Compensation Benefits

At Suncor, we believe people who contribute to our success should share in the rewards both monetary and non monetary. We take a «total rewards» approach that includes compensation, pension, benefits and career development programs. Our benefits include comprehensive health care and insurance plans, competitive pension and savings plans and generous time off all in a flexible package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of you and your family. Go ahead. Expect great.

Compensation. Our compensation package is designed to «pay for performance,» which means Suncor provides competitive base pay with the ability to earn additional rewards through annual and long term incentives, performance bonuses and stock options. Employees who excel in their roles and demonstrate high potential have the opportunity for additional financial recognition.

Benefits. Suncor’s benefits package is an important part of the total rewards package. Our flexible health and insurance benefits include a menu of benefits options medical and dental plans, prescription drug coverage, vision care, life, accident, critical illness and disability insurance, and a health spending account that provides for expenses beyond what is covered by the basic plans. The flexible nature of our plans means employees can personalize their benefits packages to suit their needs.

Pension Savings Plans. Our pension plan includes both defined contribution and defined benefit components, and our savings plan provides great opportunities for employees to build a healthy financial future. The defined contribution component starts on your first day of work with us, and later on you have the opportunity to add a defined benefit component.

It’s not all about work. With our increasingly demanding lifestyles, many employees are looking for programs that help achieve success at work and at home. All Suncor employees have access to a free and confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program and educational assistance for courses relevant to work.

Employees receive generous paid vacation time, which ranges from three to six weeks per year, depending on years of service and experience level. In addition to vacation days and holidays, eligible employees also receive personal time off days which are intended to give employees extra time for doctor appointments, family activities or the ability to pursue personal interests.
