stabilized optoelectronic system at Army
Gyro stabilized opto electronic systems (GSOS) are designed for day and night viewing of surroundings, search, detection and recognition of objects and obstacles based on their thermal reading, measuring range to an object for the purpose of take off, flying and landing, and many other special tasks. GSOS represents a universal module which, depending on customer requests, can be set up with various equipment. This equipment often requires steric stabilization, particularly with a laser range finder.
Helicopters equipped with the GSOS system can perform environmental monitoring, engage in policing, search and rescue missions, as well as other tasks. Four channel systems are located in the base of the gyro stabilized platform for the detection and recognition of objects in a wide viewing angle or under excessive vibration at any time of day.
