The real good news with the r3000 is the complete oem cover comes off easily with four screws for service all this and remember the price point of this printer! Fair point. I noticed that every operator in my company started printing one pass for some time now. I was against it at first but no customer complain so far so yeah maybe this will be the prefered way. Even with some color blowout (somewhat expected), people went nuts over it. The registration being perfect is a huge help, and most of our designs adapted very well to the slight color shift, giving a vibrancy to prints, especially on black cotton. I absolutely loved that feature, and it saved us a ton of time.

Ek is the best one pass I have seen and a lot of the guys that know one pass agree. Between 1440×1440 and 1440×720 theres not much you cant print it even prints 720×720 one pass. Check out the spectra vid on the yellow car «fuel» in one pass, solid white, deep black, reflections, chrome in the bumper that says it all. . Things are moving quickly with dtg advances. Ek as a company is all about speed, they know this is what makes the printer money, there slogan says it all » Technology for Fast Digital Color Textile Printing» . I really believe ek will be tough to beat with one pass with all the control coding they have over the different resolutions. Imho.

Re: Spectra Family Designated ThreadOriginally Posted by DTGPRINTERPARTS I think a wider printer could be something in the future but not right now. We just gotta focus on this printer and service Really not needed (look at the standard platen sizes on the Epson and brother) both large corps that spend a lot on r and research, only a very small % of the market print over size bigger than a3 with dtg, cost is a factor per print also. a lot of people have those grand ideas and then decide to make money reduce labor and ink cost. over size out source to screen if you have a decent volume order you’ll make more money . no matter what dtg is capable of your still going to get a majority of work based on the simple few color «bob’s landscaping» «Melvin’s mechanic shop» and the likes unless you have a niche market your catering to.
